Facial Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®)
At Innersense Aesthetics Medical, we offer Botox® (botulinum toxin type A) as a prescription-only treatment, delivered by our experienced Nurse's. The treatment works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles to reduce lines caused by repeated expressions, creating a smoother, fresher appearance while maintaining natural facial movement.
Many patients also notice an improvement in their self-confidence and general wellbeing following treatment.
Your Treatment Journey
Every treatment begins with a face-to-face consultation with one of our Nurse Prescribers. During this appointment, we will review your concerns, assess your medical history, and discuss whether treatment is suitable for you. If appropriate, a personalised treatment plan will be created.
The appointment is usually around 30 minutes, including consultation and aftercare advice. Results may start to show within 3–5 days, with full effect developing over 2–3 weeks. The outcome typically lasts around 3–4 months, and a follow-up appointment can be arranged if needed after 2-3 weeks following treatment.
Please note: Botulinum toxin type A injections with Nurse Lorraine require a consultation with a Nurse Prescriber.
Common treatment areas:
Botulinum toxin type A is often used to soften frown lines, forehead lines, and lines around the eyes (crow’s feet). It can also be used to lift the eyebrows, relax a gummy smile, smooth chin dimpling, create a subtle lip flip, or reduce tightness in the neck area. In some cases, it may also help refine the jawline by reducing activity in the masseter muscles.
Each plan is tailored to the individual, and your nurse will always guide you on what is most appropriate for your face and desired outcome.
Jaw Slimming & Masseter Treatment
Botulinum toxin type A can also be used to treat the masseter muscles (the chewing muscles at the jaw). In suitable patients, this may help reduce muscle bulk, creating a softer, more contoured jawline and a slimmer facial appearance.
This treatment may also be considered for patients experiencing symptoms related to teeth clenching or grinding (bruxism). Suitability will always be assessed during consultation, and outcomes will vary between individuals.
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) For Medical Conditions
When prescribed for medical purposes, Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) can help manage certain conditions.
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) for Teeth Grinding & Jaw Pain (Bruxism)
Excessive clenching or grinding can cause discomfort, headaches, and dental wear. Botox® is injected into the masseter muscles to reduce overactivity, helping relieve tension, soften the jawline, and protect the teeth. Most patients notice improvement within 1–2 weeks, with results lasting 3–4 months.
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) for Facial Muscle Spasm Disorders
Botox® can also be used to treat neurological or muscular conditions such as blepharospasm, which cause involuntary facial spasms. By relaxing overactive muscles, treatment can ease discomfort and improve day-to-day function. This is always carried out in line with your medical diagnosis and only if clinically appropriate.
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) for Dystonia
Botulinum toxin type A may also be used in the management of certain types of dystonia, a neurological condition that causes involuntary muscle contractions. The treatment aims to relax the affected muscles and may help improve comfort and function. This is only carried out following appropriate medical diagnosis and assessment.
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) for Well-being
Some patients choose Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) treatment as part of their overall sense of wellbeing. By softening expression lines, treatment can help create a more relaxed and refreshed appearance. Our Nurse Prescribers will always take time to understand your concerns and ensure your results remain subtle, natural and appropriate for you.
A Natural, Safe Approach
At Innersense Aesthetics Medical, your treatment will always be carried out by a qualified medical professional who prioritises your safety, comfort, and natural results. As botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine, treatment can only be provided following a face-to-face consultation and assessment with a Nurse Prescriber to ensure it is clinically appropriate for you.
